Important side note about blanking for the Rogal Dorns armour, the melta damage +2 is not blocked since it is applied after lowering the damage to zero. It's weird but it is how it is intended according to GW.

I agree with all of this. The other point is that it leads to dodgy narratives in the list. The fact that I can take a plasma pistol and power sword on every squad sergeant means I may as well or I’m short-changing myself. But that means that the Guard has wildly more of these elite weapons than the Astartes. If power swords are so readily available that every Guard sergeant has one, why are Intercessors running around with chainswords?! Some clerk somewhere in the Administratum is gonna get executed…

Had a puma and sold the army, starting again now. They're great but I see so many that I almost don't want one just to buck the trends.

Anyone who says reducing a 2+ to a 3+ isn’t a big deal doesn’t understand maths. Reducing a 2+ to a 3+ is effectively HALVING the armour save. How you say? Because you’re DOUBLING the opportunities to fail it (rolling a 2 or a 3 rather than just a 1). In a similar way, increasing your save from a 6+ to a 5+ is also effectively doubling your armour save. Admittedly doubling one is quite easy, but it’s a fact I don’t think should be ignored.

Having used the Doomhammer recently, I would definitely take it again. It was extremely useful in murdering a Predator and a Land Raider in a single salvo, and the 2 infantry squads I had packed inside were just icing on the cake. I disagree with the Doomhammer assessment, its main gun is fairly useful in my experience

It’s ironic that the M5 is more expensive than the M3a3, since IRL the M5a1 was significantly cheaper, as the main difference between the two was replacing the M3’s expensive airplane engine with two modified car engines.

There's some weird arguments in this video. The first is trying to establish Men-At-Arms as the best infantry... by comparing them to goblins and state troops. That's like claiming your Ford Escort is the best car in the world, by claiming it is safer than a Pinto and more reliable than a Lada. Another strange argument was comparing damage output between Men-At-Arms using halberds, to Empire spearmen, and noting the odds of hitting and wounding even out... but ignoring that Spearmen get a whole second rank of attacks. It was also odd to argue the limited mobility of a Men-At-Arms brick isn't an issue because opponents might charge it by mistake. That argument is just wrong. Good units don't need the enemy to make basic mistakes to be valuable. And thing is, the immobility doesn't make Men-At-Arms bad. Having a unit the enemy wants to avoid is a really valuable asset, allowing you to control where and when combat takes place. There is a good reason for why Men-At-Arms are good despite their immobility, which makes it very strange this video instead made a bad argument. The video also claimed Grail Monks would be safe from a round of combat, as the Yeoman would take the first challenge. But you don't need to Challenge to attack a character. Any Character not in a challenge can have attacks directed at them by any enemy they are in base to base with. So in the first turn the Yeoman takes the challenge, while the Grail Monk would be targeted by any of the models it is in base to base with, where it would be very unlikely to survive. The unit prices given here are crazy. Maybe something fun for a knock around game, but if you're trying to win against people who are also trying to win, then sinking up to 300 points in to a tarpit unit is a huge mistake. You want your tarpits to be very cheap. The value in Me-At-Arms is you can put a viable tarpit unit in the field for around 150 points - 5*5 with full command and Stubborn. Don't get me wrong, Men-At-Arms are a good unit. They're a million miles from the best infantry unit, but this is the internet and hyperbole is just part of the deal. But even in the context of internet hyperbole, there's no excuse for straight up bad arguments, like missing out half the attacks the enemy unit gets in a comparison, or forgetting that you can attack champions outside of challenges.

It should be a special rule for the Tyranids that the only objective that counts is eliminating all enemy units.

I see another possible nerf on the Tank Commnaders - Rules Commentary page 17, top left - looks like a counter to usung "Death befiting an officer" after death in close combat. This is huge blow against agressive use of those units.

as a VC player. easiest way to remember about regeneration is. If its necromantic animation it's not flammable. If its a vampiric creature it's flammable.

This is a beautiful army. When The Old World came out I thought the bigger bases would not suit elves and humans and I still think so. The close order units look like they are in loose order becuase of the huge bases.
